Five minutes for attempted world domination
The west coast has some pretty good crab, so it's pretty common to see traps like these hanging off of docks. This was in Barnet Marine Park and these guys were crabbing by the shore. Instead of a boring drop into the depths, these guys had to swing their traps and toss them out into the water. Action shot ahoy!
Unfortunately, there wasn't anyone who hilariously messed up a trap throw, so these were the seasoned kind of crabbers.

I snapped this shot at the dam near the Capilano Suspension Bridge. Water does some really neat things in the right light, from funky rainbow effects to the mirror-like sheen in the picture below. I managed to get this without the aid of a tripod, but that's mostly due to the good amount of light that day (despite the tree shade) and the fact that I was able to rest my camera lens on an opening in the fence.
The road up to the dam really isn't anything special. Sometimes if you keep going, the interesting turns up.

Words are an interesting subject of a photo exercise. I was wandering around the local parks with the word "curve" in my head, trying to get pictures that fit. This is a picture of a rope jungle gym. In retrospect, me wandering around a park containing kids playing with a camera in my hand may have looked kind of weird.
On another note, I need to be a little more diligent at posting these pictures. My plan was to post at least one picture a week, but that has sort of fallen off. I was also supposed to post a little more in terms of my cooking experiments, but I seemingly always forget to take pictures. So uh, New Year's resolution I guess?
